Preset Window

Here we are with the powerful generator machine! Let’s explore the options available for creating various presets, effects, groups, and gradients. The interface is divided into four main sections.

On the left side, you can choose the shape you want to generate. Currently, there are 10 shapes available in the app:

ShapeDescriptionExample
Line X >Horizontal line from left to rightLine X >
Line Y >Vertical line from bottom to topLine Y >
Line X <>Horizontal line from center to edgesLine X <>
Line Y <>Vertical line from center to edgesLine Y <>
RingCircular shapeRing
ClockRadial shape like clock handsClock
Cake <>Pie-chart like shapeCake <>
ArrowDirectional shape (angle adjustable)Arrow
DiamondDiamond shapeDiamond
CrossCross shapeDiamond

In the center section, you can adjust the origin or center point of the shape and set its rotation. You have the option to save and recall different origins, which will also be stored in the .ppcad file.

On the right side, you have several options to enhance your designs:

OptionDescription
Set OrientationDetermine from which side the 3D data is projected onto the 2D shapes.
Add SubIDsWhen selected, each Sub-Fixture is calculated separately. If not selected, all Sub-Fixtures receive the same value.
Min Time/Phase/ValueSet the minimum time in seconds, effect phase in degrees, or value within the range of 0-255.
Max Time/Phase/ValueSet the maximum time in seconds, effect phase in degrees, or value within the range of 0-255.
GroupingDivide the shape into multiple sections. For example, selecting the “Line X >” shape with a grouping of 2 will cause the effect or delay to run simultaneously from the left and the center.
Mirror EvenMirror all even segments of the grouping.
PathSimilar to paths on a desk, this concept can be likened to easing or damping an effect or delay.

Explore these features to maximize your creative potential with the generator machine!

At the bottom, you can choose what you want to generate. Select one of the radio buttons on the left to create a preset with delays, values, or an Effect/Phaser. Then, press the middle button to proceed.

Effect Groups allow you to create one or more groups based on your chosen shape and grouping criteria. For instance, if you select the “Line X >” shape and choose a grouping of 2, you will generate two groups: one for the left side of the fixtures and another for the right side. You can still utilize all other available options.

Gradient Presets let you create a new preset that transitions between two presets selected from the showfile. This feature is perfect for creating color gradients, and you can further modify them using all the options mentioned above.

Filter your data to create a subset from the imported entries. Discover more about the available filter options here.
